Dane Valley Woods is a community woodland
in the heart of Margate

Volunteer

10am – 1pm last Sunday of the month

Come and join us for one of our regular monthly task days. Enjoy the fresh air and greenery whilst helping to keep the woods in top shape.

About the woods

A wild space run by volunteers for the benefit of both people and wildlife, established on a former landfill.

Did you know?

Few areas of the United Kingdom have as little tree coverage as Thanet. In fact, Thanet has 80% less tree canopy coverage than the UK average, putting us on par with Greater London!

Wildlife

What might you see in the woods?

Dane Valley Woods is more than trees, it’s a thriving wildlife haven. We love spotting, recording, and sharing the species that call it home.

Highlights

Dane Valley Woods has had a great list of successes during its development. Over 6,450 trees have been planted for starters.

OUR SUPPORTERS

We’re grateful to the companies and schemes whose support makes it possible to maintain and grow Dane Valley Woods.

Let's make
Margate beautiful

Dane Valley Woods costs around £500 a year to run, so we’re grateful for any amount that you can spare us.
